TOP 100 Wines of 2006
"Powered with acidity and its firm structure, this is an intensely dry, concentrated, powerful wine. It certainly has wines in the blend that are older than 10 years, yet it is definitely a 10-year old in style, as the fresh fruit to finish confirms."

"Opaque purple. Ripe black berries and dark cherries on the nose with peppery notes and hint of sweet tobacco. Well rounded, sweet fruited mouth balanced by keen fruit acid and lively tannins. Complex, well balanced with fine structure. Continual development of flavours in the mouth would seem to indicate lots of life to come in the bottle. Full and firm in well extended finish."

Graham's 1996 - Quinta dos Malvedos - Single Quinta Vintage

pmp @ 2010-06-11 14h00

"Stunning value, this single quinta wine from Quinta dos Malvedos, the isolated estate in the Douro Valley in northern Portugal that provides most of the best grapes for Graham’s vintage port, is well up to the standard of most vintage port... This wine is looking gorgeous now – just right for winter sipping. Wonderfully mellow yet refreshing super-ripe fruit too... This port should also continue to develop in bottle for another 10 years at least."

Graham's 2007 - Vintage

pmp @ 2010-06-11 14h00

"It is wonderfully rich first ripe blackberry then cassis all backed by liquorice and eucalyptus. The fruit on the palate is powerful, enriched by dark chocolate and given a wonderful complexity by the mix of black fruits. The balance seems near perfect and the finish is sleek, refined and elegant."

Graham's 2007 - Vintage

pmp @ 2010-06-11 14h00

"The nose here can only be described as frustratingly coy but very, very pretty. Core notes of warm blackberry and black cherry are joined by violets, black pepper, cloves, licorice and a touch of mocha. The palate promises at a wine of great purity, elegance and balance to come. Layer upon layer of dark fruit and spice flavours seamlessly wrap around crisp acidity and a wonderful texture of very fine, firm tannins. Very, very long finish."

Graham's 2007 - Vintage

pmp @ 2010-06-11 14h00

"A classic vintage of Graham’s, the cool, balanced fruitiness of 2007 plays right into the style of the house. This is harmonious and powerful, with pure fresh fruit that bursts in the mouth then lasts, sustained, as the flavors of the Douro’s ancient varieties cascade for minutes in fascinating interplay and detail. As luscious as it may be, the fruit still has red tones, along with a sensual texture. The schist tannins are muscular, sculpted into soft curves, Apollonian in their power. Compelling to drink as a young wine, this has what it takes to mature for 50 years or more."

"A candidate for wine of the vintage, the 2007 Graham’s Vintage Port is complete in every way. Opaque purple-colored, it offers up an ethereal perfume of smoke, mineral, Asian spices, incense, an amalgam of ripe black fruits, and a hint of chocolate in the background. This leads to a dense, super-rich, plush, opulent wine that hides its structure under all the fruit. Vibrant, impeccably balanced, and exceptionally lengthy... It is a tour de force."
